NELFA is highly interested in capacity building. We want to improve the skills of our staff members and active rainbow family activists from all over Europe. We were part of a Grundtvig experience, we managed three Erasmus+ projects in a row and are currently partner in a new REC-project. Find below the details…

Erasmus+ (EU) 2020-2022

NELFA PROJECT

TITLE: “Rainbow Families 2020 – Together For a Better Future”

GOAL: This project was dedicated to the empowerment of NELFA, to strengthen its educational activities for the well-being of rainbow families in a (possibly) non-welcoming environment. The project activities enveloped a wide range of training on leadership skills, teaching and consulting skills, as well as guidance skills (main partner organisation “In Dialogue“), and job-shadowing comparable LGBTIQ* organisations in other countries (focus on the ex-Yugoslavian region, with the main partner Dugine obitelji from Croatia).

PARTICIPANTS: Board members and active volunteers – especially from Eastern Europe and the Balkans

EC GRANT: 34.515 EUR (for 19 mobilities)

Rights Equality Citizenship (EU) 2019-2022

NELFA PARTNER-PROJECT

TITLE: “Rainbow Shield: Enhancing the legal protection of LGBTI people in Bulgaria”

GOAL: The specific objectives of the two-year project were to expand the scope of legal practitioners prepared to deal with LGBTI cases and enhance their expertise in doing so, to raise awareness among the community about possibilities for legal protection and to disseminate best practices. NELFA’s task was a membership survey concerning legal needs.

PARTICIPANTS: The leading organisation is Deystvie, partners are Bilitis (Rainbow Hub),  Foundation GLAS, Asociatia Accept in Romania and NELFA.

TITLE: “Joining forces for the well-being of rainbow families”

GOAL: This project was dedicated to the empowerment of NELFA, to strengthen its educational activities for the well-being of rainbow families in a (possibly) non-welcoming environment. This was done by training staff and active volunteers on leadership skills, teaching and consulting skills, as well as guidance skills (main partner organisation was (again) “In Dialogue“), and job-shadowing comparable LGBTIQ* organisations in other countries (this year: Sateenkaariperheet in Helsinki, Finland).

PARTICIPANTS: Board members and active volunteers – especially from Eastern Europe and the Balkans (Serbia [ERA], Bulgaria [Deystvie], Croatia [Dugine obitelji], Albania [OMSA], Romania [Asociatia Accept], Estonia [Eesti LGBT Ühing], Poland [FTR], Russia [LGBT Network] and also from France [apgl])

NELFA PROJECT

TITLE: “Chances and challenges for rainbow families”

GOAL: This project was a follow-up of the first one in 2016-2017 and aimed once again at strengthening NELFA towards its educational activities. This was done by training staff and active volunteers on leadership, guidance, teaching and consulting skills, and job-shadowing comparable LGBTIQ* organisations in other countries (ILGA Portugal).

PARTICIPANTS: Board members and active volunteers from Poland (TRiP and Tolerado), Bulgaria (Deystvie), Croatia (Dugine obitelji), Albania (OMSA), France (apgl), Italy (Famiglie Arcobaleno), Germany (LSVD), Belgium (Homoparentalités), Finland (Sateenkaariperheet) and Portugal (ILGA).

EC GRANT: 32.155 EUR (for 26 mobilities)

NELFA PROJECT

TITLE: “Adequate and equal legal protection for rainbow families”

GOAL: This project aimed at strengthening NELFA especially towards its educational activities. This was done by training staff and active volunteers on leadership, guidance, teaching and consulting skills, and job-shadowing comparable LGBTIQ* organisations in other countries (LSVD Berlin, Stonwall UK).

PARTICIPANTS: Board members and active volunteers from France (apgl), Italy (Famiglie Arcobaleno), Greece (OLKE), Germany (TransInterQueer e.V., LSVD), Switzerland (Dachverband Regenbogenfamilien), Russia (Russian LGBT Network) and Finland (Sateenkaariperheet)

EC GRANT: 30.815 EUR (for 22 mobilities)

Grundtvig learning partnership

Being a LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Parent as an experience of democracy and active citizenship.

Aim of the project and of the partnership is to educate the lgbt parents to practise the active citizenship at a European level, struggling for equal rights and dignity for their families in a supranational dimension.  The project will help the partner associations and their volunteers  to develop a better understanding of civic partecipation and of their active citizenship in a European context.

The objectives of the project are subdivided into 3 levels of empowerment:

  • active citizenship
  • media
  • legal issues

Term: 1st of August 2012 – 31 of July 2014
